WhatsApp New Tricks [Updated-2021]

Message Someone who blocked you recently

Almost every messaging app includes a blocking option. WhatsApp is the same way. If you end up on someone's block list, you won't be able to send them private messages via the app.

What if you need to explain yourself or deliver critical information? If that is the case, here are some WhatsApp tips for you.

Send an SMS or text message to the WhatsApp number. Remember that WhatsApp still relies on mobile phone numbers. And if you have the person on your WhatsApp list, you've probably got their phone number.Create a new account on the same smartphone with a different phone number. Yes, this is the quickest way to contact someone who has blocked you. Because you'll be using the same phone, your phone book will appear on the new WhatsApp account.

Finally, if you are both members of a WhatsApp group, you can use that group to message the person you want to message.

Hiding your seen messages

Sometimes you have one or two people in your phonebook who you don't want to talk to but don't want to block. If this is your issue, these WhatsApp tips will make you happy.

Because WhatsApp has the “tick” feature, the person on the other end will know whether or not you read the message. One grey tick indicates delivery, two grey ticks indicate receipt, and blue ticks indicate reading. Uncheck Read Receipts in Settings>>Account>>Privacy to disable the ticks.

This WhatsApp trick does have a drawback. If you disable this feature, you will no longer be able to see whether the message you sent was read or not. If that's okay with you, this is your best option. Furthermore, you can enable it at any time.

After receiving a message, you can also use this method by enabling Flight Mode or Airplane mode on your phone. Check the message you received and immediately close WhatsApp. Then, turn off aeroplane mode once more. You read the message, but the blue tick does not appear to be activated. Simple but difficult.

Shifting to a new number

If you want to change your WhatsApp number while keeping your existing account, you can do so officially. There is a setting in the WhatsApp app that allows you to do this.

Change the number by going to Settings>Account>Change Number. You will be presented with a screen containing two fields in which you must enter the old and new phone numbers.

When you finish and click Done, you will receive an OTP on the second phone number. As soon as you complete the authentication, you will be able to use the same account on the second phone number.

Changing WhatsApp Chat Background

WhatsApp does not lag behind in terms of customization. You can set any wallpaper as your WhatsApp account's background. You can even use an image from your own computer for this.

You only need to follow these WhatsApp tips to accomplish this. Navigate to Settings>> Chats>> Wallpaper. Then, choose a picture to serve as your chat background.

Sharing large files

This feature is useful for those who use WhatsApp for business or as a messaging platform for a productivity group. Large files can be easily sent via WhatsApp.

Because WhatsApp does not support sending files larger than 16MB in size, you are limited to a few seconds of video. As a result, this is what you should do.

Install Dropbox from the Play Store and use it to upload your files. When the upload is complete, it should provide a shareable link. Copy that link and paste it into the chat room where you want it delivered.

When your friend taps on that link, they will be redirected to the web browser on their phone. They can then download the file with a single tap.

Other cloud storage services, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, and CloudSend, offer similar functionality. All of the file formats and types supported by these cloud services will be available on WhatsApp via their respective links.

Getting back deleted messages

Did you know you can recover deleted messages from your WhatsApp chats? This is possible, but only for the last 7 days of your chat history.

You will need a PC or laptop to recover and read all chats from the last 7 days, including deleted messages. Connect your smartphone to the WhatsApp app on your laptop/PC.

Navigate to the phone's internal memory using Windows file manager (My Computer, This PC). Look for the WhatsApp/Databases folder. There are two files inside: msgstore-yyyy..dd..db.crypt and msgstore.db.crypt.
The msgstore-yyyy..dd..db.crypt file is required. Right-click the file and select Open with Notepad. That is all there is to it.

Hiding whatsapp media in gallery

There is also a way to prevent received WhatsApp images and videos from appearing in your phone's gallery. It should be as simple as flipping a switch.

Simply go to Settings > Chats > Show Media in Gallery and deactivate the slider. That is all there is to it. Your WhatsApp chat images and videos will not appear in your gallery.
